Amphenol Advanced Sensors, a global Fortune 500 Company, seeks a driven and high energy SQE candidate to join our team!
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, responsible for all aspects of supplier quality for a global supply base via working with sourcing, technology, quality and manufacturing to qualify/develop suppliers as well as resolve supplier quality issues through teamwork and process improvement.
Essential Responsibilities
- Own all supplier quality management scope including qualification of new suppliers, continuous monitoring of supplier quality performance through audit and effective metrics, reviewing supplier deviations requests and implementing supplier corrective actions.
- Measure and improve supplier defect rates and reduce supplier cost of quality systematically. Provide supplier quality input to supplier scorecard. Use quality tools, metrics and data to identify and drive quality projects across all suppliers resulting in the overall improvement of supplier value (price, service & quality).
- Develop and implement rigorous and practical supplier qualification process. Develop and execute qualification plan based on needs from NPI, cost reduction and supply chain risk mitigation programs.
- Support NPI by facilitating dialog between suppliers and product design team to achieve design for manufacturing and speedy NPI launch. Own supplier qualification through NPI process.
- Facilitate quality improvement for supplier manufactured products in relation to technical specifications, equipment, fixture and testing. Drive necessary internal team support to suppliers as needed. Create necessary reports of supplier issue resolution.
- Perform on-site business surveys and technical audits at suppliers.
- Participate in continuous improvement
- Interface with all levels of supplier organization including their upper management to achieve quality improvement goals
- Make tough decisions to stop supplier production line due to quality concerns and manage recovery with strong sense of urgency
- Resolve product quality issues hands on as well as develop quality system and processes to improve supplier quality management
- Moderate to extensive domestic and international travel
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or other technical discipline or a minimum of 5 yearrs SQE or Manufacturing Quality Experience
- Application of Quality Control Tools (SPC, Gage R&R, Process Capability, FMEA, DOE)
- Highly Technical/Analytical
- Strong & Effective Written & Spoken communication skills
- Strong PC/Software Literacy
